What started as a personal ritual, a restless mind, a hotel room espresso machine, and a refusal to accept mediocre coffee, has grown into a global pursuit of the finest specialty coffees on the planet. WHERE IT STARTED

It did not begin with a business plan. It began in London.Jimmy Butler was walking the city between games, ducking in and out of coffee shops, meeting locals who had no idea who he was. No basketball. No noise. Just people, conversation, and exceptional coffee connecting strangers over something they had in common. That experience lodged itself somewhere deep. Back home, coffee became a daily study. The same intensity Jimmy brings to film sessions and pre-dawn workouts got redirected into grind sizes, water temperatures, extraction times, and origin profiles. If he was going to drink it every day, he was going to understand it completely. Then came the bubble. In the summer of 2020, with the NBA season locked inside Walt Disney World and the coffee options underwhelming at best, Jimmy did what Jimmy does: he found a solution and got to work. He set up a full coffee operation from his hotel room, a personal espresso machine, a French press, a pour-over, and a menu of lattes, cappuccinos, and macchiatos, and opened for business. Twenty dollars a cup. Same price for all sizes. His first customer was teammate Goran Dragic, who, by Jimmy's own account, still has not settled his tab. What teammates dismissed as a joke, Jimmy was already treating like a craft. BIGFACE was born not from a marketing strategy but from a genuine, unshakeable love for coffee and the connections it creates.

BIGFACE exists at the intersection of specialty coffee culture, intentional design, and the belief that the ritual of a great cup deserves the same level of commitment you bring to anything else worth doing. We partner directly with farmers and producers across the world's great coffee-growing regions, from the highlands of Ethiopia to the mountains of Colombia, the volcanic soils of Guatemala to the elevated farms of Honduras. We source exceptional single-origin, micro-lot, and multi-origin coffees through direct trade relationships, ensuring every coffee we offer is traceable, remarkable, and produced in a way that respects the people and ecosystems behind it. All coffee is roasted to order, so what arrives at your door is always fresh. The same obsession that drove Jimmy to travel to coffee farms, study sourcing, and build relationships with the world's best producers drives every decision we make, from the coffees we select to the ceramic barware we design to the apparel we drop. Nothing makes it out without earning it. BIGFACE packaging, developed in collaboration with Zenpack and Brandmonger, earned runner-up honors at the 2023 Dieline Awards and took gold at the 2024 iF Design Awards. Our coffees have been recognized by the New York Times. These things matter to us, not for the validation, but because they confirm that the standards we set are real.
