EL PORVENIR

We’re thrilled to bring back one of our seasonal favorites: El Porvenir. This coffee has anchored our rotation with its balance, structure, and undeniable character, and every time it returns, it reminds us why it’s earned a permanent place in our orbit. The farm is led by Juan Jiménez, a second-generation producer who has been cultivating coffee for over 40 years on his 16-hectare estate in Palestina, Huila. Long before Pink Bourbon became a celebrated cultivar, Jiménez invested in it, experimenting and refining his approach. That foresight not only set him apart, but also earned recognition and awards across the specialty community. His consistency, discipline, and vision show up in every harvest, and it’s an honor to continue sourcing his work year after year. This latest micro-lot carries structured acidity and the vibrant lift that makes Pink Bourbon so sought after. Expect sweet lemon, bright grapefruit, and a citrus-forward clarity that punches through the cup with energy and persistence. It’s equal parts refreshing and grounding, a cup that feels like sunlight. We’ve worked with El Porvenir long enough to know: this is coffee that never misses. It’s proof of both Jiménez’s dedication and Colombia’s unmatched diversity of terroir, and we’re proud to share it once again. Cup Notes: Sweet Lemon • Grapefruit • Structured Acidity Cultivar: Pink Bourbon Process: Washed Roast: Filter Focused Farm: El Porvenir, 16 Hectares Producer: Juan Jiménez — 2nd Generation Farmer Region: Palestina, Huila, Colombia

COFFEE FAQ

Specialty coffee is scored 80 points or higher on a 100-point scale by certified graders. In practice, it means coffee that’s carefully cultivated, harvested at peak ripeness, and processed with precision. For BIGFACE, specialty means clarity, complexity, and the kind of character you can only taste when every detail is dialed in.

We work with trusted farmers and export partners in origin countries like Colombia, Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. Every release is tied to a specific farm, estate, or microlot, so you always know where it was grown, who produced it, and how it was processed.

Those flavors are naturally present in coffee. Coffee shares hundreds of the same aromatic compounds found in fruits, flowers, and spices. When you see tasting notes like grapefruit, honey, or cacao, it’s describing what the coffee expresses naturally, nothing added, just unlocked through roast and brew.

BIGFACE coffees are marked with a Best By date, we recommend enjoying them before then for peak flavor. Store your coffee sealed in its BIGFACE bag or in an airtight container at room temperature, away from heat, light, and humidity. The coffee will remain safe to drink past the Best By date, but flavor and aromatics are at their best when enjoyed before that point.

Yes. Specialty pricing reflects the investment at origin. Hand-picking cherries, extended fermentations, and careful drying all require time and labor. Paying more means better quality in the cup and better wages for producers. It’s about excellence and fairness throughout the supply chain.
